Chandler dominated its first-round playoff game against Alva Friday night, building a 21-6 lead in the first quarter and winning, 49-19.

It was a night in which the Lions controlled the game from the opening kickoff and played most of it on Alva’s end of the field, thanks to stellar special team play.

“We mixed it up and everything went about like we thought it would,” said Chandler coach Jack Gray. “We’ve had some guys banged up, so we didn’t run our fullback game much. We went to a spread and threw the ball around.”

The Lions racked up 377 yards of total offense, with 213 coming on the ground.

Casmen Hill had the most, 154 yards and two scored on 13 carries.

Quarterback Kaden Jones had 133 total, throwing for 89 and running for 44.

Defensively, Kyle Snodgrass had five tackles to lead the team and John Marshall had six, with two for losses.

Stefaun Mackey and Brayden Redford had five each, with two of Redford’s for minus yardage.
