Davenport’s Bulldogs opened district play with a bang, shutting out Wesleyan Christian School, 47-0, Friday night.
The Bulldogs scored early and often, getting all but one of their touchdowns on the ground.
There was plenty of offense to go around:
- Carson Funk had nine yards on three carries and two conversion runs.
- Zion Ward had four carries for 29 yards and two conversion runs.
- Kyle Hobill had a touchdown and six yards on two carries. He also had a conversion run, a punt return of 35 yards and a kickoff return of 37 yards.
- Parker Mitchell had seven carries for 58 yards and completed one of three passes for six yards and a score.
- Cole Yancey had a reception for six yards and a touchdown.
- Jayce Phillips ran once for 18 yards and a score.
- Campbell Miller had four carries for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Harrison ran twice for 49 yards and a touchdown.
