Stroud falls to Pawuska

Pawhuska put up 34 unanswered points in the second half to erase a 26-0 deficit and end the Tigers’ season Friday night.

The 34-26 loss was the first of year for Stroud, which ended the season with a 10-1 record.

Stroud ran out to a 26-0 lead in the first half.

Gage Parrick started the scoring with a 21-yard run less than a minutes into the game and Grant Elerick ran in from a yard with 58 seconds left in the first quarter.

Both conversion tries failed, leaving the Tigers up by 12.

Parrick scored again early in the third quarter on an 11-yard run and Grant Elerick hit Drew Elerick for a 20-yard pass just before halftime.

Parrick’s conversion run made it 26-0.

That was all the scoring for Stroud, but Pawhuska was just about to get started.

The Huskies racked up three touchdowns in the the quarter and tied the game at 26-26 when Todd Drummond hit Hunter Hurd with a scoring pass with just under 11 minutes left in the game.

The Huskies got the gamer-winner with 3:53 left when Kevin Davis ran across from two yards out.

Drummond hit Mason Gilkey for the two-point conversion to account for the final score.

Played under chilly drizzly conditions, the game was an offensive showcase with both teams racking up close to 400 yards in total offense.

Stroud finished with 392 yards, 225 of them coming through the air on 17 of 29 completions.

Pawhuska had 344 yards with all but 29 coming by passes.
