Davenport’s Trevor Edwards turned Friday the 13th into his own personal lucky day.

The 6-4 junior blistered Moss for 38 points in less than three quarters, leading the Bulldogs to a 74-32 win and a district championship.

It was the kind of night players dream about. Edwards hit 10 three-pointers with a smooth, easy stroke, getting five threes in the second and five in the third.

He came out of the game with a little more than a minutes remaining in the third quarter, but still outscored Moss by himself, 38-32.

The win lifted the No. 18 Bulldogs to 18-3 and put them into the Class B-2 regional tournament. They were to play Whitesboro at 7:30 at Moss on Tuesday.

The Davenport girls won their district, as well, and were playing Whitesboro at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Moss.

The eighth-ranked Wellston girls had no trouble putting away Foyil in their Class A regional at Davenport.

Savanah Gaylord scored 24 points and Kamber Goodman had 17 to lead the WLTs to a 75-11 victory.

The Wellston boys made short of their district, as well, battering Foyil, 68-22.

Tyler Fish led the way with 28 points for the WTs. Both teams move on to regional play at Ripley on Thursday. The girls play at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30.

Agra and Carney lost both ends of their district games.

Agra’s girls fell to Hillsdale Christian., 63-20, and the boys lost, 67-33.

Carney’s girls lost to Lomega, 97-9, and the boys fell by a 65-47 count.

Both advance to regional play in the loser’s bracket.
