The Meeker Public Works Authority has received notice of approval of a $1,635,000 loan to help improve its wastewater infrastructure. The $1.6 million loan is from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and is for construction of upgrades and improvements in the town’s wastewater system.

Meeker gets $15K credit on big March gas bill

Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt said this week the third party gas vendor that sent the exorbitant bill to the district in March has discounted it by 30 percent. The bill that was originally sent by Symmetry Energy Solutions totaled $51,702.78.

Meeker schedules annexation hearing

The Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week voted unanimously to set a public hearing for the proposed annexation of property around the Meeker Lake. The Trustees decided on 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Meeker Town Hall as the date for the public hearing on the annexation.

COVID keeps climbing in area

The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped some in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. There have been two new deaths in Pottawatomie County but none in Lincoln County since the last report.
