The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority released an update on ongoing projects along the Turner Turnpike/I-44.The turnpike between Stroud and Chandler was narrowed to one lane from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 6,fromMM147forsurface repairs.

Rolling Thunder Comes to Meeker

Third indictment in grow bust

An Oklahoma Multi-County Grand Jury has returned a five-count indictment against a third man wanted in connection with the robbery and burglary at a marijuana grow in July of 2024.The indictment was filed July 25, 2025 against Robert Dewayne Mayfield, Jr., 34, of the Emond area.

Pleas in conspiracy cases

Three of four defendants charged earlier this year with conspiracy have entered innocent pleas during their arraignments recently and one remains at large on an outstanding warrant.Two of those charged each have several prior felony convictions.

Stroud students attend FCCLA conference

Three of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members from Stroud High School attended the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando from July 5-9. Two were qualified to compete, according to a press release from the high school.
