A Prague man is facing 12 counts of child sexual abuse following his arrest by area law enforcement authorities.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District against Riley Draper, 35. He made an initial appearance before Special Judge Emily Mueller who set his bond at $100,000.

Life without parole in homicide

A man from Sioux City, Iowa convicted by a Lincoln County jury in October of first degree murder and two other felony counts in the death of a Carney area man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Christmas parade

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Festival will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, this year, in downtown Chandler.The festival will kick off early with a holiday market at the Museum of Pioneer History running from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

School board filing starts Monday

The three-day filing period for school board offices opens next Monday, Dec. 2, and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 4.Election Board offices in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
