Activities happening around Stroud for the next few days are Metal Detecting Club will meet at Stroud City Hall, tonight (Thursday), February 16th at 7:00 p.m., Central Vo-Tech in Drumright will hold their annual open house from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Next Tuesday is Valentine’s Day. I learned many years ago what needs to be done for this day. I’ve done different things, but there are some basics that have become entrenched in my mind that are a must. One is, order the flowers early. Not just any flowers, but roses.

Town Talk volunteers and the American Legion Auxiliary are hosting an “Olive Garden” luncheon this Sunday, February 5th at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center. All profits from this event will go towards the balance on our Bugle Boy statue.

Last Sunday night, actually it was in the wee hours of Monday morning, I heard a ding on my phone. I also heard a ding on my wife Pat’s phone. I could tell this wasn’t a text message, so there was no reason to be alarmed. This was about 45 minutes after we had climbed into bed.

Conference rescheduled in mistrial

A status conference has been re-scheduled for a Tulsa woman charged with first degree manslaughter and multiple other felony offenses whose trial was declared a mistrial in 2022 and is to be retried.
