Couple waives hearing in neglect case

Arraignments have been continued for a Prague couple facing child neglect and drug charges after they had brought their child into the hospital and reportedly were intoxicated.Charged with felony child neglect are Devon C. Rodriguez, 32 and Camille Breean Akins, 30.

Preliminary hearings have been set for a Prague woman facing three felonies, among them first degree rape.Taylor Jo Bittle, 18, was charged in Lincoln County District Court on Feb. 26 of this year with distribution of obscene material or child pornography.

Lincoln County voters in Tuesday’s primary election narrowed the contest for sheriff and elected two other county officials.Two candidates remain on the ballot in the sheriff’s race. Kevin Garrett had 1,626 votes, Aaron Bennett, 1,622 and they will square off in the Aug.

Chandler High School coach Bryan Herring was inducted into the Oklahoma Slow-Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame prior to the All-State Game Saturday.A graduate of Chandler, Herring has been Chandler’s head slowpitch coach since 2011.
