A Stroud man who admitted he and another individual were inside a building when it went up in flames last October has been charged with burglary.Formal charges of second degree burglary were filed in Lincoln County District Court March 26 against Joshuah Dylan Standley, 33.

Identities released in fatal house fire

The two bodies discovered inside a house in Stroud nearly a week after it burned in early March of 2023 have been identified, Stroud Police Chief Clint Gaylord confirmed this week.

Grow house defendant set for trial

A Prague man who earlier was bound over on several felonies stemming from a reported crime spree he went on following a reported armed burglary he and a Shawnee man allegedly committed last October has been set for the felony disposition docket and scheduled for trial.

Federal indictment on gun charges

A defendant already charged in Lincoln County with two felonies and a misdemeanor has been indicted by a federal grand jury.Jameel Rasheed Wilkins, 37, was indicted last week on firearms and ammunition charges. Currently he sits in the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler.

Driver pleaeds guilty in pursuit

A driver who led law enforcement officers in a high speed pursuit that reportedly started in Perkins and ended at the Dale Middle School has pleaded not guilty.The pursuit went partially through a local farmer’s wheat field.The driver, identified as Roderick David Pope, Jr.

Chandler, NRC win sweepstakes

Music was certainly in the area last week, with area high schools competing at the OSSAA state competitions for concert band and choir. The band and choir from Chandler High School walked away with superior ratings in all categories, earning them sweepstakes awards.
