Hearing set in death of child

A preliminary hearing has been set for a Harrah man facing a manslaughter charge or in the alternative negligent homicide after his four-year-old son reportedly jumped from his pickup truck and was run over by the vehicle.

Deferred terms in endangerment

One of two men charged with child endangerment and a drug-related count who previously pleaded guilty has drawn two deferred sentences.Blake Michael Barrett, 21, of Seminole, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Sep. 13, 2022 with two felonies and a misdemeanor.

Meeker sets school calendar

Meeker Board of Education members this week approved the calendar for the 2024-2025 school year, accepted a couple of resignations and honored one of their own.Becky Briggs completed her second consecutive five-year term on the board Monday night and fellow members recognized her as School Supt.

Congratulations to Coach Gary Higgins on being selected for induction into the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s 2024 Hall of Fame. Higgins is currently a coach in North Rock Creek. He is a graduate of Stroud High School Class of 1966.

Prague woman dies in crash

A Prague has died and a Meeker man was injured recently in a two-vehicle collision at U.S. 177 and I-40 in Pottawatomie County.Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Conner Fryrear identified the woman who died as Diana Srader, 78, of Prague.
