Hugh Edward Willoby, 92, of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on October 28, 2025. Born December 14, 1932, he graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and the Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where he met his wife, Betty Jean Buckner.

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently invited high school students across the state, including Meeker FFA member Kaydence Staude who was selected to attend the annual Capitol Camp held at the Oklahoma state capitol building.

CHS Theatre review

The Chandler High School Theatre Department is hosting a preview of their state-bound one-act “IN DARKNESS, AUDIO FLOWERS BLOOM” by Alvaro Saar Rios.The preview will take place at the Chandler High School Performing Arts Center on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

The American Legion Auxiliary invites all veterans and their families and the Stroud community to Ed. Smalley Centennial Park this Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a community picnic luncheon to honor our veterans. Lunch is free to veterans and their family members.
