Meeker town board meeting

Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week approved the certification for the REAP Grant and set the dates for the 2026 meetings each month.Trustees will hold their regular meetings on the third Monday of each month beginning at 6 p.m.

Hearing set on manslaughter

A Meeker man facing a first degree manslaughter charge after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a fatal multiple traffic collision in Lincoln County in late August has made an initial appearance and a further hearing has been scheduled.

Deferred sentence

A Shawnee woman faces a felony count of driving while under the influence of alcohol following her arrest in Prague earlier this year has entered a guilty plea received a deferred sentence.Formal charges were filed Jan. 6, 2025 in Lincoln County District Court against Angelina Elaine Bell, 26.

Cross country state

Lincoln and Pott counties will be well-represented at the state cross country meet at North Rock Creek on Saturday.The meet begins with Class 4A girls at 8:30 a.m., followed by 4A boys at 9 a.m.Class 2A girls will run at 10:30 a.m. and the boys at 11 a.m.Class A girls will run at 12:30 p.m.

Chandler awards wastewater bid

The Chandler Municipal Authority awarded a bid to Orr Construction for the Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion at their regular meeting on Oct. 14.The bid was for about $3.88 million and was the lowest of the four received.
