Felony charge for driver

A felony and two misdemeanors have been filed against a driver following her arrest by Chandler police.

Kalah Nicole Pendleton, 28, of Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court May 19 with distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substance, including possession with intent to distribute, a felony, and two other misdemeanors.

Special Judge Emily Mueller set a $5,000 bond for Pendleton and she made her initial appearance on May 20. At that time, the judge set a pre-preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

In the felony count against Pendleton, she is accused of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute on May 6 in Lincoln County.

One of the misdemeanor counts charges her with driving with license cancelled/suspended/ revoked by driving while her privileges were suspended on that same date.

She is accused, too, of driving the wrong way on a one way road.

Pendleton was arrested by Chandler Police Officer Chris Hawkins shortly before 4:30 p.m. on May 6 after he observed her driving westbound in the eastbound lanes at 15th Street and Iowa in Chandler.

In a probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Hawkins said Pendleton admitted to him she has never had a driver’s license.
