Bufford Tyrone Wilson Godwin was born to Narvelene Wilson and Clarence Godwin on July 23, 1963, in Stroud. He died Sunday, March 28, 2021, at the age of 57 years.
Bufford was a 1981 Stroud High School graduate and a believer in the Islamic faith.
Preceding him in death were his father and four grandparents.
Survivors include his mother Narvelene Christopher of Stroud; two daughters, Sherea L. Salonne Carter of Tulsa, Okla., and Naomi Angel Thomas of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Marvis Tyrone Thomas of Sayre, Okla., and Antonio Youngblood of Wichita, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
He is also survived by five sisters, Winifred Gay Godwin-Foster of Carrollton, Texas, Sherry Simmons of Oklahoma City, Gail Godwin of Stroud, Melinda Walker of Kansas City, Mo., and Florence Star of Dallas; one brother, John “Toy” (Armintha) Godwin of Stroud; and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at First United Methodist Church in Stroud with Elder Toni Godwin officiating. Care Services were provided by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
