The McLoud City Council has approved modifying the public duck and deer hunting policies and drawing procedures at Wes Watkins Lake.
McLoud Assistant City Manager Cody Roe said the modification includes extending the period hunters can draw in for duck and deer hunting.
“They apply online,” he explained, adding, “there is a $5 charge to enter that drawing and they should contact McLoud City Hall for more information.”
The Council also adopted a resolution modifying the public duck and deer hunting fee list, Roe said, “and that includes a $25 daily permit to have access to designated daily duck hunting areas.”
In another action, the Council approved purchasing a new pickup truck not to exceed $35,000 for Roe, City Manager Buck Day stated.
Day said a $35,000 budget amendment was approved to pay for the pickup.
In other business, the Council:
Appointed Rayven Kirk to the Pioneer Library Systems Board of Trustees.
Took no action on approving the Pioneer Library Systems Contract for Fiscal Year 2022. Day said he is to meet with a representative of the library next week to work on that.
Took no action on updating billable charges for fire/medical runs by resolution.
Approved the FY22 Workers’ Compensation Plan Renewal.
Approved an ordinance on the OkMRF City Retirement Plan and also approved the emergency clause.
Authorized applying for a $10,000 grant with Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative for the fire department.
Took no action on establishing a procedure for the settlement and/or resolution and/or payments of claims against the city whether or not the claims are covered by insurance or other third parties.
Took no action on approving an ordinance on a rezoning/lot split at 4560 S. Arena Road.
