State Sen. Ron Sharp stated last week he was being targeted by dark money in an attempt to discredit him as he runs for another four-year term.

The Senate District 17 Republican is on the June 30 primary election ballot with two other GOP candidates, Brandon Baumgarten and Shane Jett.

After doing some intensive research of his own, and determining that Oklahoma Conservative Project, LLC was not registered with the Oklahoma Secretary of State’s Office, he requested Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties District Attorney look into the matter.

Sharp said Oklahoma Conservative Project, LLC has been responsible for mailing out five fliers and using a robocall in its effort to defeat him.

He estimated the cost of the five mailers would be approximately $100,000.

The senator sent Grubb a letter requesting assistance, providing the DA with information he had gathered about the targeting attacks.

Sharp said his own research couldn’t find Oklahoma Conservative Project, LLC registered in the other 49 states.

Sharp said he copied the letter he sent to Grubb to the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General along with other information he provided to the local DA.

Grubb, through his spokesman Neal Davis, said early last week, “I am working diligently to find the person or persons responsible for what at this point we believe is election fraud.”

Last Friday, Grubb completed his investigation. His office determined that Oklahoma Conservative Project, LLC is legitimate and licensed in the state of Delaware.

Grubb provided a copy of the license to the newspaper that shows the LLC was registered in the state of Delaware recently.

Grubb confirmed his investigation is over.

Sharp is seeking his third, four-year term to the State Senate.

He was first elected in 2012.

“And they want me out under any circumstances,” Sharp asserted.
