Peggy Sue Loy

Tuesday, July 26 th at 7:45pm, Peggy Sue got her first glimpse of Heaven. She is now walking, leaping, and praising God on the streets of gold, in the loving care of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was the beloved wife to Joe C. Loy for 59 years, and the cherished mother of Tami and Chris Loy. She is survived by Tami and Toni, their son, Ty, also Chris and Jill and their sons Gannon and Carson.

Peggy Sue was the daughter of Robert Paul and Edith Haws, born Jan. 28 th , 1944, in Pryor, Okla. Raised in Chandler, Okla. until 1963, and she dearly loved this community. She was involved in many activities including the First Christian Church and the Order of Rainbow for Girls. She loved music and singing, from being the drum-major of the high school band, performing in band concerts, and competitions, and selected Grand State Soloist. Peggy Sue and Joe Loy married in 1963 and moved to Oklahoma City, Okla. where they became long term members of University Place Christian Church. She later performed with the Treble Clefs and the Sweet Adelines-Sooner Sensations. 1n 1975 Peggy Sue and Joe moved to Blanchard, Okla., where Joe started Loy Oil Co. and Peggy Sue started Word of Peace bookstore. In 1993, Peggy Sue worked with Best Cleaners as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2007.

Her passion in serving Jesus reached so many. Weekly you would find Peggy Sue visiting and praying with those in nursing homes, children at the cerebral palsy center, and hospitals. If she knew you were in need, Peggy Sue would stop and pray with you. She was a true prayer warrior.

Services for Peggy Sue were held Aug. 3 at the First Christian Church of Moore with Pastor Shannon Grubbs presiding over the ceremony. Graveside services were held at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
