Alvus Earl Morehouse

Alvus Earl Morehouse was born November 18, 1925 in Rossville, Oklahoma to John and Daisy (Davis) Morehouse. He passed away December 25, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 97.

Al’s parents moved to Seminole in 1926 to work during the oil boom. In 1941 following the death of his mother, they moved to Humphreys, OK south of Altus. He attended schools at Snowmac, Wolf, Humphreys and a one-room school in the Kendrick community.

Al was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Infantry and the 8th Airforce. He was a 28-year Civil Service Retiree, member of the American Legion, Cattlemen’s Association, Solo, Orsis, Knights of Pythias, 52-year member of the Travelers Protective Association of America and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Al was married to three ladies. One gave him three children.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, John and Daisy Morehouse; son, Christopher Ray; twin siblings, Arile Ray and Arline Mae. Survivors include his daughters, Annette Kay Sewell, Patricia Lynn Strunk and her husband William; two granddaughters, along with other family and friends.

A graveside funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Rossville Cemetery under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
