Carney High School has announced that Carson McSpadden is the valedictorian for the Class of 2023 and Hailey Helfenbein is the salutatorian.
Carson McSpadden Carson McSpadden is the son of Samantha and Michael McSpadden. He has attended Carney schools since Pre-K. He has held a 4.02 GPA and has received awards including US Presidential Scholars Nominee, Oklahoma Academic Scholar, College Board National Rural and small town recognition program recipient, and the Carney cemetery scholarship. He has been involved in the community by being part of the Carney outreach program. He has been active in Future Farmers of America, Student Council, Skills USA, Speedfest Aerospace Competition, and Vex Robotics. His employment includes Yaya’s cafe and Yarrowhead Farms. Carson’s plans for after high school graduation are to attend Oklahoma State University for computer engineering.
Hailey Helfenbein
Hailey Helfenbein is the daughter of Jessica and Greg Helfenbein. She has attended Carney schools since Pre-K. She has a 3.9 GPA and has received awards including Heart of a Bulldog and hustle awards in basketball, superintendent Honor roll, and Principals Honor roll.
She has been active in Future Farmers of America, basketball, softball, student council, and cheer. She has been involved in the community by going to the elementary and helping aid the learning experience with the 3 year olds and pre-k class.
Hailey is employed at the Dollar General and her plans for after high school graduation are to attend Rose State college and become a dental hygienist.
