Chandler Board of Education members this week hired several personnel and approved a number of committees. They also approved revised and updated policies.
Hired as Secondary Teacher and coach is Randy Hedge, who last May retired after serving many years in the Chandler School District.
School Supt. Scott Baade said Hedge will be part-time.
Two Paraprofessionals were hired. They are Janice Regan and LeAnna Flow.
A cafeteria worker, Kelly Patterson, was also hired, he stated.
Board members accepted the resignation of Holly McBride, reading specialist.
They approved the encumbrances for administrators, certified contracts and support employees who have contracts beginning in August of 2023.
Board members approved Chandler Public Schools to piggyback off of the contract with Edmond Public Schools to use US Foods as their food vendor for the 2023-2024 school year to furnish food and supplies for the Child Nutrition program.
The board approved a milk bid from Hiland Dairy Foods Co.
In other business, board members: Approved Celeste Spruill as an adjunct teacher for four hours of midlevel math for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved Robert Gray as an adjunct teacher for four hours of Oklahoma History for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved Jack Gray as an adjunct teacher for four hours of 7th-12th grade Physical Education for the 20232024 school year.
Approved Alex Reed as an adjunct teacher for one hour of 7th-12th grade Health for the 2023-2024 school year.
Agreed to a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Career Tech for funding of the Ag Education, Business and Information Technology Education, and Family and Consumer Sciences for school year 20232024.
Approved the Mentor Teacher Advisory Committee: Jessica Murray to mentor Ashlyn Holzrichter,.
A textbook advisory committee was approved consisting of Bridget Hughey, Mistry Cryer, Kari Hulsey, Christina Anderson, Heather Kliewer, Erin Evans, Shawn Blankenship, Kristy Peery.
A Medical Exemption Review Committee was approved. Those members include Charity Dempsey, Lisa Almand, Amy Radcliffe, Bridge Hughey, Freddie Hall, Geoff Metheny, Cynthia Snider.
Approved a Professional Development Advisory Committee consisting of Bridge Hughey, Lisa Almand, Geoff Metheny and Freddie Hall.
