A Stroud man, previously convicted of several felony offenses, has been charged with two drug-related counts and one for a firearms violations.
Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on Feb. 16 this year against Ryan Ken Burns, 34.
In Count 1, he is charged with distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substance, including possession with intent to distribute.
Count 2 accuses him of acquiring proceeds from drug activity.
In Count 3, he faces a count of possession of firearm after former felony conviction.
Burns appeared before Special Judge Emily Mueller on Feb. 9 and she set his bond at $5,000. He was ordered to make his initial appearance on Feb. 22.
He is accused in count 1 on Feb. 7 this year of possessing marijuana, a CDS, with the intent to distribute.
Count 2 charges him on the same date of acquiring, transporting and concealing proceeds in Lincoln County known to be derived from the trafficking of CDS.
The third count accuses Burns of possessing at his residence a Springfield 9 mm located in his bedroom after he had been convicted of second degree burglary in Lincoln County on Oct. 3, 2017.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows that Burns was convicted on Oct. 3, 2017 in Lincoln County District Court of seven felonies including three for second degree burglary, three for knowingly concealing stolen property and one for false declaration of ownership to pawnbroker.
