Stroud agriculture building project completed

Stroud Public School’s new agricultural facility, pictured to the right, is ready to fill with the sounds of students learning to care for cattle, hogs and sheep.

Construction on the project reached completion last week, and while there are no animals in the facility yet, Stroud Public Schools superintendent Joe Van Tuyl said he expects that to change next school year.

“We want it to be available for students to use to be able to maximize their abilities to work with other animals and [...] for all the management for the show animals and so forth,” Van Tuyl said. “And to learn quite a bit about agriculture.”

The new building was built to move the agriculture program into an area that would provide more room and create more space.

Future plans for the property also include the addition of baseball fields near, but not adjacent to the agricultural facilities, Van Tuyl said.
