Charles Ray McWhorter

Charles Ray McWhorter, 86, was born April 25, 1934, in Jones, Okla., and died Sunday, October 18, 2020, in Shawnee, Okla.

McWhorter, the son of Paul Timothy and Ruby Ruth (Baze) McWhorter, married Shirley Ann Pool on June 18, 1955, in Chandler.

He worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority retiring as a maintenance supervisor. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Bob, Richard, Larry and Leslie; and one grandson, Tyler McWhorter.

Survivors include his wife Shirley McWhorter of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kim McWhorter of Chandler; his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Keith Stingley of Wellston; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Cecelia McWhorter of Oklahoma City; and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Star Valley Cemetery in Chandler with the Rev. Lane Buckley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
