Phyllis Ann Huff

Phyllis Ann Huff was born on July 5, 1939 in Sparks, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Flossie Shaffner of Davenport, Oklahoma. She was welcomed to Heaven on January 14, 2024.

She passed away at her loving daughter’s home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 84.

Phyllis attended grade school at Deer Creek and graduated from Davenport High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie “Sonny” Huff, on August 26, 1956, at Deer Creek Baptist Church, where she maintained a membership for the rest of her life.

Phyllis attended Draughon School of Business in Tulsa, Oklahoma after high school. While being stationed in the Army, Phyllis and Sonny traveled to Texas, Georgia and eventually California. They were blessed with their first child (Rowdy) while in California. They returned to Oklahoma, where she first worked for Allied Materials for ten plus years. After moving back to Oklahoma, they had two more children (Tammy and Mike) while also working full time in the auto sales industry in Stroud, Prague and eventually, Wewoka. Phyllis and Sonny retired but continued working together in carpentry and farming. Phyllis was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for all their family’s farm animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attended all family get-togethers and school events. She was an avid fisherman and hunter in her younger years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sonny, of 59 years, her parents, Clyde and Flossie Shaffner; her sister, Sue Norman and brotherin-law, Thurman Norman. She is survived by her three children, Rowdy Huff of Sparks,Tammy and Donald Stover of Oklahoma City andMikeandChristiHuffofEdmond;9grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-inlaw, Kay and Dean Cook of Stillwater; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bonnie Shaffner of Choctaw, sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Jesse James of Stroud and a host of beloved relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Deer Creek Baptist Church. Burial immediately followed at Kellerby Cemetery in Prague. The family accepted guests from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
