East Side Pre-K Rodeo

Donations to schools by CVEC

Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC), along with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC), helped to provide more than $2.4 million to schools in the state, including several schools in Lincoln County and Pottawatomie County, according to a press release from CVEC.

Stroud man face felonies

A Stroud man who has several prior felony convictions is facing a new felony.Charles Buchanan Fields, 54, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 31, 2025 with possession of contraband by an inmate.He appeared before Associate District Judge Joe Dobry March 28.

Pamela Joyce Roberts

Pamela Joyce Roberts, former resident of Davenport, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning ofApril 14, 2025, and was completely healed of Parkinson’s Disease. ShewasborninPonca City, Oklahoma, onAugust 20, 1950, to James Everett Gilstrap and Betty June (Hutson) Gilstrap.

Terry Otis Dawson

Terry Otis Dawson, of Norman, OK, was born January 11, 1958, and passed away April 30, 2025, at the age of 67.Preceding Terry in death are one grandson, three brothers and his adoptive parents, Otis and Bessie Dawson.

Wanda Kay (Hightower) Thompson

WandaKay(Hightower) Thompson was born May 4, 1946, in Bristow to Andy and Zelta (White) Hightower. She passed away on May 10, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 79.Wanda married Roy Allen Thompson, Sr. in June 1966.Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Everett Dale Melson, Sr.

SSC graduates

Seminole State College in Seminole, OK, held commencement on May 9 at the Raymond Harber Field House.Oklahoma Speaker of the House Kyle Hilbert was the guest speaker and degrees were handed out to graduates by Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Bill Knowles.
