Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting this week opened bids for the renovation of the county jail and voted to table them until their regular meeting next Monday, Dec. 2.
Commissioners opened six bids at Monday’s meeting. The firms, figures and time to complete the project include: A&K Construction, $2,830,000, 450 days.
Lambert Construction, $2,856,000, 10 months.
W.L. McNatt and Co., $2,730,000, 448 days.
Ascend Commercial Builders, $2,440,270.43, 12 months.
Jim Cooley Construction, $2,977,600, 365 days.
Hoey Construction, $2,639,000, 360 days.
Commissioners at an Oct. 7 meeting discussed bids that were opened on two projects, a new OSU Extension Office Building at the fairgrounds and the jail expansion/renovation project.
They have awarded a bid for construction of a new OSU Extension Office Building at the fairgrounds.
They opted to scrap the expansion but go ahead with the renovation and they also agreed to make modifications to the jail renovation project.
Commissioners are up against an approaching deadline of Dec. 31, 2024 in which any ARPA funds they plan to use must be encumbered by that date.
ARPA funds were approved in 2021 during COVID-19 and provided through the American Rescue Plan Act to state, local, county, tribal and territorial governments to provide assistance with various projects.
Lincoln County was allocated a total of around $6 million in ARPA funds.
In other business during the special meeting this week, commissioners approved a Sheriff’s lease agreement with Welch State Bank.
They approved an ODOT agreement for the Genesis Project.
They adopted a resolution for a donation for District 2.
They took no action regarding a possible additional employee at the Fairgrounds.
