Stroud’s Tigers pounded Hartshorne 4816 Friday to notch their fourth straight win and stay in a first-place tie with Mounds in District A-7.

The Tigers, now 4-2 on the year, and the Golden Eagles, 5-1, meet at Mounds on Oct. 19.

Hartshorne scored first Friday, but the Tigers peeled off 48 unanswered points.

The Tigers controlled the game with their rushing offense, totaling 370 yards on the ground and averaging almost 10 yards per try.

Jacob Beck led the way with 135 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, and Kason Presley carried a dozen times for 107 yards and a touchdown.

The Tigers host Konawa, which is 0-3 in district and 2-4 overall, then head to Mounds for their showdown for first place.

The Golden Eagles’ only loss this year has been a 47-0 pasting by Gore.

They squeaked past Konawa Friday night, 19-18.

Stroud dropped its first two games to Chandler, ranked 8th in Class 2A, and Colcord, ranked fourth in Class A.

The Tigers currently down the No. 7 spot in the Maxpreps rankings.
