Stroud’s disk golf course

Swimming, fishing and camping aren’t the only activities that will be available at the lake this summer.

The city of Stroud is installing an 18 hole disc golf course at Stroud Lake.

“We’re hoping to have it done by May 1st,” Stroud City Manager Bob Pearman said.

Matt Bell, a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association, designed the course.

“There’s quite a mix in this course,” he said. The course has holes

The course has holes ranging from 200 ft. to 1,000 ft., is approximately a mile and a half and runs down the top and back side of the lake dam.

Bell said hole six, which goes across the dam, is the longest hole in all of Oklahoma.

“This is going to be a championship course,” he said.

Although the course has yet to be named, Pearman said it is a Par 66 course to stay in line with Route 66.

The cost of the project is expected to be around $12,000 and will be paid with funds from the Tourism, Parks and Recreation and Lake accounts.

Pearman said not only will players enjoy the layout, the challenges, the uniqueness of the course and how it lays out at the lake, but also the views of the lake. “People who have seen

“People who have seen the map of the course are very excited about playing here,” he said.
