Chandler brothers receive awards

Three brothers from Chandler received national recognition for the work and research they did in FFA. Chandler Alumni Seth Stone was a National Finalist in Agricultural Proficiency for his work in agricultural research and plant systems.

Prague senior receives gold

Wellston junior Shaley Barnes received a silver Agricultural Proficiency award rating from the National FFA Association for her work in the area of nursery operations. “It feels awesome to get my second national emblem,” she said. “I’m bound and determined to get gold.

Our grandson, Liam, turned 2 on Aug. 31 and his birthday party was last Sunday. What a great celebration it was. His first birthday party was at our house. This year some close friends of ours had offered to our daughter Meghan and her husband Terry to host the party at their place.

Marvin and Deanna Kriel Evans of Wellston were married August 27, 1960. They have raised cattle and farmed together for 60 years now and plan to continue to do so. For most of their married life, they have raised a huge garden and people know where they can find fresh veggies under the shade tree.
