Our grandson, Liam, turned 2 on Aug. 31 and his birthday party was last Sunday. What a great celebration it was. His first birthday party was at our house. This year some close friends of ours had offered to our daughter Meghan and her husband Terry to host the party at their place.

Like a lot of others things this year, the Chandler Public Library Fall Story Time will be very different. From Sept. 1 until Christmas, there will be children’s books available to be checked out.

Wellston couple reaches 60 years of matrimony

Marvin and Deanna Kriel Evans of Wellston were married August 27, 1960. They have raised cattle and farmed together for 60 years now and plan to continue to do so. For most of their married life, they have raised a huge garden and people know where they can find fresh veggies under the shade tree.

It’s a boy! Shawn and Chelsea Long are proud to announce the birth of their son Anderson Joe Long born on July 22, 2020 at 3:25 a.m., at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. He weighed seven pounds and was 20 and one-half inches long. A.J.’s grandparents are Barbara Long and the late Joe E.

Furry friends are in store for those who may find themselves on the side of the road. Teddy bears were donated to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol from the Agra Club of the Oklahoma Home and Community Education Friday, July 31.

In July of this year, there was a huge event missing from my calendar. It’s a sports activity that has consumed a considerable amount of time for more than three decades. This would have been the 28th consecutive year for the International Finals Youth Rodeo.

Sinking Teeth Noodling Tournament

Members of the community ventured out into the 90 degree heat to enjoy big fish, cold beer and live music. Over 50 people attended the Sinkin Teeth’s fourth annual Noodlin Tournament Sunday, July 12. Eight teams signed up for the event, but only four showed up at the weigh in, which was at 6:00 p.
