Chandler resident Jerry McClanahan was inducted into the Route 66 Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday held at the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, according to the Route 66 Association.McClanahan was one of two inductees honored for their efforts to promote and preserve the famous road.

One person reportedly has died, another was critically injured and hospitalized in a single vehicle collision last Friday at the south edge of Chandler in Lincoln County.Chandler police investigated the fatal crash that occurred around 9:40 a.m. on SH 18 at the railroad overpass.

Hearing set in turnpike drug case

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a driver on the Turner Turnpike who was arrested and charged as the result of the seizure of 85 pounds of marijuana.

Meeker hires new personnel

Meeker Board of Education members recently hired four new personnel for the 2024-2025 school year and voted to approve two forms for nutrition that will allow all students attending Meeker schools this year to have free breakfasts and lunches.
