Playoffs for the spring sports season begin this week, with slow-pitch softball districts onWednesday andThursday and girls golf regionals earlier this week.
Three area schools will play their one-day slowpitch districts at home on Wednesday and four at home on Thursday. The district champions will advance to regional play next week.
The state tournaments for teams in Classes 4A, 5A and 6A will be May 5 at the Firelake complex in Shawnee. State for Classes B through 3A will be May 6 at Firelake.
Here are this week’s district matchups: Carney, Class B: Wednesday at Carney. Carney vs. Oilton, 2 p.m. Best of three games.
Chandler, Class 5A: Thursday at Chandler. Santa Fe South vs. Berryhill, 10:30 a.m.; SF South-Berryhill loser vs. Chandler, noon; SF South-Berryhill winner vs. Chandler, 1:30 p.m. Subsequent games depend on results of the first three.
Dale, Class 4A: Thursday at Dale. Dale vs. Fairview, 4 p.m. Best of three games.
Davenport, Class A: Thursday at Davenport. Welch vs. Frontier, 1 p.m.; Welch-Frontier loser vs. Davenport, 2:30 p.m.; Welch-Frontier winner vs. Davenport, 4 p.m. Subsequent games depend on results of the first three.
