Seminole State releases honor roll

Seminole State College has released its summer honor rolls. The following local students were on the lists.The list includes students who completed six or more credits during the summer term and earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Wellston Board ends municipal tax, no action on fire dept

Wellston’s Town Board held a special meeting on July 28 to discuss the cessation of a municipal sales tax and went into executive session to discuss the employment of seven city employees, including three from the fire department.

Despite the early hour, the summer heat is intense. The teens out on the field stretch and run laps before taking what will be the first of many water breaks.Already, many have broken a sweat, with red faces and heavy breathing.But this is just a warm-up to get the day started.

Lincoln County On-Stage has once again teamed up with Chandler Public Schools to put on the annual, summer children’s theatre workshop. This year, the kids will perform “Seussical Jr.”Students involved in the Chandler High School drama program helped with the workshop and program.

County Commissioners

The Lincoln County Commissioners renewed a sublease agreement with Stroud Public Schools at their regular meeting on July 20.The sublease was first signed on Dec. 1, 2016, and is renewed at the beginning of every fiscal year until it’s paid off.

Prague School Board approves handbook

The Prague School Board approved hand books for the next school year as well as a handful of personnel decisions at its regular meeting on July 13.
