Late last week marked 11 years since my wife and I had to have one of our pets put down. We remember that date each year and always reflect a little on the time we had with him. He was a miniature schnauzer.

Monday morning started off peacefully. I woke up my children so they could start school on the first day of distance learning. While bacon, eggs and biscuits cooked I helped Melody begin her Kindergarten assignments. Aaliyah and Raiden began working on their classes’ assignments.

Friday morning I reached out the kitchen door and pushed the button for the garage door opener. As the door lifted and the morning light brightened the inside of the garage, I couldn’t help noticing a couple of shiny black eyes staring at me from a few inches away. How odd.

Meeker Town Hall updates

The Town of Meeker is experiencing the COVID-19. It is hard to believe all the lock downs we are seeing. Now is the time for all of us to continue to support all our local businesses that are staying open, whether it be a drive thru restaurant or telephoning for special one on one appointments.

The first time I heard those words, growled by Clint Eastwood in the 1986 movie ‘Heartbreak Ridge,’ I knew that a key of wisdom had just been handed to me. This nugget of advice has been with me throughout my life and I find its wisdom very appropriate for the current trying times.

The world as we’ve known it, at least during my lifetime, has been turned upside down in the last few weeks due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Coronavirus. Most people are really concerned as they should be. Some are down right scared.

Town Talk

I hope everyone is staying home and staying safe. I have been back and forth between my home in Bartlesville and my mom’s home in Stroud but not venturing out much further than those two places. I did tell Larry that we would have some more “urban” dictionary entries after this pandemic.
