Congratulations to our Stroud Alumni committee on another successful alumni weekend. They deserve a big thank you for all the time and hard work they devote to making this event happen each year. I was unable to attend due to my great-nephew Gideon’s out of town baseball tournament.

On Memorial Day afternoon, my wife Pat and I once again became a great aunt and uncle. Our niece Sarah gave birth to a baby boy. Wyatt James was born at 2:39 p.m. on Memorial Day. Sarah is the daughter of Pat’s younger sister, Marilyn.

Hearing set in high-speed chase

A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a driver facing four charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

Stroud police responding to a call at the Stroud High School Softball Complex shortly after midnight arrested a woman on outstanding warrants and she now faces a new drug charge.
