Putt-Putt Kicks on Route 66 is open for business. We are still working out our hours of operation. We will continue to post them on Facebook on the Stroud Functions and Happenings page. Our goal is to have shade awnings over the course to help with the heat of the day.

A bill passed by this year’s Legislature and signed into law just last week is aimed at preventing financial fraud, waste and abuse in municipal government entities. House Bill 1058 was signed by the governor May 16.

It’s finally going to happen. Putt Putt Kicks on Route 66 will open this Saturday. We will be adding and tweaking things to the course as we go along. Sometimes the best way to find out what else needs to be done is just to open. We can then work out any kinks we encounter.

Heavy rains cause road problems

Rainfall that began falling early on Monday and was continuing into the evening on Tuesday has impacted some area roads in Lincoln County. Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Brandon Morgan pointed out several roads have been impacted by the rains.

There’s been a bill floating around in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate for some time that will keep Daylight Saving Time permanent. If approved, that means we won’t have to turn them back and forward anymore.

Alumni/Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching. People have begun to talk about all the activities taking place locally the last weekend in May. One thing on the agenda is the opening of the minigolf course.
