Chandler Lady Lions defeat Seminole, fall to Holdenville

Chandler High School lady Lions softball played two games last Thursday, August 29, getting one win and one loss on the day. First up for Chandler was a strong team from Holdenville. The Lady Lions struggled to get an offense going and were defeated by Holdenville 8 to 0.

Wellston Tigers fall to Wesleyan Mustangs

A total of 132 points were put on the board Friday night, August 30, 2019, as the Wellston Tigers fell to the Wesleyan Christian Mustangs by a score of 54 to 78. The Mustangs scored first on a 66-yard run with 10:41 le in the first quarter and led 7 to 0 when the point after kick was good.

Four county football teams kick off seasons this week

Football in Lincoln County officially gets underway this week as four teams kick off their 2019 seasons with Week Zero games. Week Zero is the term used for an 11th week in which teams can schedule one of their 10 regular season football games by sacrificing their second preseason scrimmage.

Lady Tigers drop two games in two days

Wellston’s fast-pitch softball team dropped two games in two days as the team lost at Crescent 14-1 on Aug. 19, followed by a 5-4 home heartbreaker to rival Luther 5-4 on Aug. 20. Both games were conference matchups.
