About three months ago I decided to pay my primary doctor a visit. I have quarterly appointments with him anyway, but pain in my left side, which I had been experiencing over a period of time, had intensified.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Main Street Pavilion on Sunday to make donations for Stroud’s rescued dogs. We received supplies and monetary donations. I delivered all donations to the Tulsa Humane Society and Skiatook Paws andClawsAnimalRescueonMonday and Tuesday.

Meeker Town Board meeting

Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week authorized its Administrator to spend up to $2,000 for sand and delivery of that sand to develop a beach at Meeker Lake.

Charges filed

A Stroud man faces a felony and misdemeanor following his arrest recently by a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy.

Meeker Quilters’ Guild camp

The Meeker Quilters’Guild sponsored their 15th annual Summer Quilt Camp July 7-9. Mammoth Baptist Church graciously hosted the 3-day event which was attended by seventeen participants.

Mommy and me

It was just another Thursday night. Giggles and splashing filled the air, rising over the tune of “I’m a LittleTeapot.” Four toddlers grinned in their mothers’ arms as they filled cups with pool water and watched as the water filtered out through the holes poked into the bottom.

Williams qualifies for nationals

Local motocross racer Jace Williams, 17, of Chandler, has officially qualified for the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Waverly, TN— the world’s largest amateur motocross race and the most prestigious in the U.S.The race runs July 28-Aug.

Mural of memories

A large mural depicting the history of Chandler was recently completed, spanning the entirety of the retaining wall in front of City Hall on Manvel Avenue. The mural was designed and painted by Bob Palmer. See more photos on page 2A.
