Lincoln County News wins 4 first-place awards at OPA

The Lincoln County News won four first-place awards in the Oklahoma Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest.The awards were presented Saturday night at the OPA’s convention at the Grand Casino and Hotel.

Ray went to be with his Savior on Friday, May 23, after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1947, in Chandler, OK, to Ray Ervin Thronesbery Sr. and Dorothy Hoover Thronesbery.He attended Chandler Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1965.

Treva Lee Parrott, 91, passed away May 17, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK.Treva was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Parrott; a daughter, Monette Hart; her mother, Lela Wayland; her brothers, Bill, Garland, John, and Mike Wayland; and her sisters, Faye, Doris, Wanda, and Katherine.
