Resignations over board action

White Rock School Board members’ attempt to not renew Supt. Alicia Ebers’ contract for the 2025-2026 year has prompted nine teachers and staff to submit their resignations in apparent protest.

Five students from Lincoln County have been awarded tuition grants from the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in their annual Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, according to a press release from the Hall of Fame.

Chandler headed to prison

A Chandler man with at least one previous conviction facing two new felonies has entered guilty pleas to both and drawn prison time on each count.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District on March 24, 2025 against Scott Grady Sweeden, 46.

Local school boards, like all other public entities, are expected to comply with the state’s Open Meeting Law.In fact school board members are required to attend and complete a certain number of hours of education and the Open Meeting Act is part of that.There’s a good reason for the law.
