Shirley June (Moody) Johnson passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 81, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was born on November 1, 1943, to Myron Moody and Coleene Chapman in Oklahoma City.
Shirley graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Oklahoma, in 1961. She then married Jerome “Bud” Johnson in Davenport on June 23, 1962. She became a long-time resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma, where she and Bud were in the monument business. They owned and operated Shawnee Memorials, Inc., a monument shop, for over 40 years.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents and husband, Bud. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Johnson and son-in-law Bruce Frey (Lawrence, KS), her sisters and brothers-in-law, sister-in-law Sue Blakely, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the New Zion Cemetery pavilion in Chandler.
