Over 16 fires burn roughly 10,000 acres

Over 130 fires in 44 counties burned about 170,000 acres in Oklahoma on Friday, according to Gov. Kevin Stitt. Current estimates state that there were over 300 homes and structures destroyed, along with four deaths and at least 142 injured.

City Council approves speed limit change on Joe Long Drive

TheChandlerCityCouncil voted to change the speed limit and add signs along Joe Long Drive in their monthly meeting on March 13.Currently, the speed limit is 35 miles per hour, but it will be lowered to 25 miles per hour to match the surrounding roads .

Chandler City Council awards contracts for Imel, Reed Parks

The City of Chandler is jumpstarting plans to spruce up Imel and Reed Parks.The City Council voted in their monthly meeting on March 11 to award contracts to two companies for the projects; however, these plans have been in the works for about a year or so.They approved a $427,860.

An Agra man previously convicted of two felony counts related to crimes against a minor faces a new charge also related to a minor.A formal charge was filed in Lincoln County District on March 6, 2025 against Zachary TaylorWatkins, 34. He is charged with possession of child pornography.
