Stroud man pleads in child neglect case

One of two people from Stroud facing child neglect charges has pleaded guilty as the result of a plea bargain and drawn a 10-year sentence with all but the first 90 days suspended. The other has waived further hearings in the case.

Meeker Town Board

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees this week voted to approve a proposed business plan and change the name of the Meeker Growth and Development Authority to just Meeker Growth and Development. In doing so, they agreed to create the Meeker Trust Authority.

Elvesta Margaret Standlee of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the age of 95. Elvesta was born on October 14, 1927 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Troy lee and Beulah Lola (Youngblood) Ellison.
