Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on June 5, 2021, at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston, Okla., for a Celebration of Life for Ronald Neal Stidham who passed away on April 22, 2021, at the age of 66. Ron was born September 30, 1954, in Midwest City, Okla., to Kenneth and Bessie (Brown) Stidham.

Larry Roger Allen

Larry Roger Allen of Newalla, Okla., was born September 25, 1942, in Perry, Okla. He died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the age of 78 years. Allen, the son of Roy and Lucille (Lampe) Allen, married Mary Katherine Allen on December 28, 1978. He served in the United States Army.

Carl Wayne Herndon

Carl Wayne Herndon was born August 29, 1945 in Chandler to Vernon Virgil and Dorothy Ellen (Jones) Herndon. He passed away April 26, 2021 in Chandler at the age of 75. Carl grew up in Chandler where he graduated with the Chandler High School class of 1963.

Guy Daniel Garrison

Guy Daniel Garrison was born March 22, 1946, at his family home near Davenport. He died Thursday, April 22, 2021, at his home. He was 75 years old. Garrison, the son of Eldon Garrison and Myrtle Herd, married Georgie Meeker on September 23, 1969, in Bartlesville, Okla.

Davenport plans 100th alumni fest

Davenport High School alumni officers announced the plans for the 2021 DHS Alumni Reunion. With the theme “Let’s Fiesta,” events will be held Saturday, May 8, marking the 100th anniversary of the DHS Alumni Reunion.

COVID cases show increase

The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped a little in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. There has been one new death in Lincoln County since the last report, but none in Pottawatomie County.

Five felony charges for Stroud man

A Stroud man faces a total of five felonies in two separate cases that were filed against him within a nine-day period. A woman identified as his girl friend has been charged in one of those cases with him.
