A funeral service will be held for Lori Lynn Purcell at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, in the chapel of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston, which handled the final arrangements. Burial will follow at the Wellston Cemetery.
Randall Dewayne King was born November 14, 1950, in Anadarko, Okla. He died Monday, March 29, 2021, at the age of 70 years.
King, the son of Darrell and Charlotte (Belase) King, married Debra Callaway on April 27, 1977, in Edmond, Okla.
He graduated from high school in Carnegie, Okla.
Betty Nickerson Hall was born July 17, 1924 in Pasadena, Calif., and died March 25, 2021 while residing in Meeker, Okla. On May 29, 1941 she married Warren Hall, originally of Crawford, Neb. During WWII they moved between New York City, Boston, Vallejo, Calif., and Quonset Point, R.I.
Terry Allen Ford of Wellston was born July 5, 1949. He died Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the age of 71 years.
Ford, the son of Cecil and Bonnie (Phelps) Ford, married Trisha Prough on March 19, 1999.
Louisa Ann Loper passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday, April 1, 2021 surrounded by family at her home in Chandler.
Louisa was born to Gilbert and Dessie (Allen) Meier on May 31, 1938 in Bessie, Okla. Raised in western Oklahoma, she graduated from Burns Flatt High School in 1956.
The number of deaths and new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped a little in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
Since March 24, there have been two more deaths in Pottawatomie County and none in Lincoln County.
Voters in some area communities in Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties decided school board and municipal contests in Tuesday’s election.
In one school district, Meeker voters approved an $850,000 bond election and in Prague voters approved a one cent sales tax for five years.

The education sales tax figures in February show an increase over January but the figures for March are down from February in all of the three area school districts in Pottawatomie County that receive it and for the DA Justice Center, the Pottawatomie County Treasurer’s office reports.
