COVID-19 deaths keep climbing

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased again in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties in the last few days, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports. Four additional deaths have been reported in Pottawatomie County.

Oklahoma State honor rolls

A total of 8,004 students were named to the 2020 fall semester honor rolls at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, including 3,449 students named to the President’s Honor Roll for earning an A grade in all their courses.

Meeker Middle School announced the names students listed on the honor rolls for the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The following were on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Sixth grade - Emmerson Gabeau, Bryce Pearcy, Addilyn Tipton, Holly Turner and Baylee Weeks.

Prairie Pointe residents anxiously await their second dose of the COVID-19 virus vaccine. We took the first dose on December 28 and we are scheduled to receive the second dose on January 25. What a game changer this will be for our folks.

We kept the grandson Liam this past weekend for parts of two days and a night and Pat and I both were really tired Sunday evening. But it’s a good tired. It’s such a pleasure to have him around and we know that keeping him gives our daughter Meghan and son-in-law Terry a little break.

Deputy assessors head east

It provides Meg and Deputy Assessors will be in Stroud, Davenport and Kendrick next week to take exemption applications and personal property assessments according to Jackie Holcomb, Lincoln County Assessor. Assessment business can be done at Stroud City Hall on 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
