Chandler awards bid for water project

The Chandler Municipal Authority (CMA) awarded the bid for the water treatment expansion project to Orr Construction for $16,077,019, while also approving a resolution to apply for a loan not to exceed $5 million from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board to help fund the project.

NRC ready to break in new turf

North Rock Creek is gearing up for its first home football game on new turf.The installation of artificial turf on the football field will be finished before the game on Friday, with the goalposts being put up on Friday morning, said Superintendent Blake Moody.
Stroud’s elementary cross country team had its annual end-of-the-season glow run last week. The runners get glow sticks and glow items to wear, run a short 1-mile course around campus and finish with ice cream sundaes. Below is Cayenne Martin. North Rock Creek rolled past Prague, 45-0, in the Red Devils’ home opener Friday night.The Cougars moved to 1-1 with the win and get to open their home season Friday against Holdenville on a brand new turf field.

Lone Grove scored early and often Friday night and sent the Chandler Lions home with a 42-13 loss.The Class 3A Longhorns scored their first touchdown three and a half minutes into the game and didn’t slow down.They led 28-7 at the half 35-7 midway through the third quarter.

Stroud outscored Class A power Pawnee 19-6 in the second half brought home a 42-34 win Friday night.The victory evens the Tigers’ record at 1-1 going into this week’s clash with Tonkawa at 7 p.m. Friday at Jack Poskey Stadium.“We played a pretty exciting game,” said head coach Josh Presley.

Prague’s girls won the Class 3A division at North Rock Creek’s pre-state meet Saturday, getting three of the top seven finishes and edging Washington, 77 points to 81.Hanna Rolett took third for Prague, Jocelyn Ward fourth and Hailey Johnson seventh.
