We asked some area high school seniors to write letters to veterans for Veterans Day.
Helen Orr Davenport
Dear Veterans, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our country. Your service has protected not only our nation’s freedom, but also the values of honor, integrity, and unity that define who we are as Americans. Because of your bravery, we are able to live in safety and peace, to pursue our dreams and to enjoy the privileges that come with freedom.
Your dedication reminds us that liberty is not free -- it is earned through the strength and sacrifice of those willing to serve. Whether you served during times of conflict or peace, at home or abroad, your contributions have made a lasting difference. You have shown true selflessness, putting others before yourselves, and standing strong in the face of challenges most could never imagine.
Please know that your service is seen, valued, and remembered with gratitude every day. On behalf of a thankful nation, I honor your courage and thank you for the countless ways you have protected and inspired us all.
With Respect and Appreciation, Helen Orr Davenport FFA President
