Chandler sophomore Kalee Peery set a new state record last week at the state powerlifting meet, squatting 275 pounds.
She competed in the 121-pound class.
There was several top five finishers from Lincoln County.
Peery was third in the 121-pound class and Chandler teammate Grace Hulsey was third in the 108-pound class. It was the first time for Chandler to have two girls place in the top five.
The Chandler boys team finished fourth and had three lifters finish in the top five, a first for the school.
Jacob Ostrowski was a fourth-place medalist, Blake Rickner was fifth and Stefaun Mackey fifth.
In the junior high boys meet, our Freshman team finished 3rd. Ty Garver was the 145 lb. class 9th Grade State Champion. Michael McDaniel was the 132 lb. class 8th Grade State Runner-Up. Felix Cargill was a 3rd Place Medalist. Dylan Rodriguez was a 5th Place Medalist. Cruz Jackson was a 5th Place Medalist. Hunner Robinson was a 5th Place Medalist. Zeke Kuczinski was a 5th Place Medalist. Collin Strickland was a 3rd Place Medalist.
